Wonder Woman Day!
Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday marked the 80th anniversary of Wonder Woman! For those of you who do not know, Wonder Woman is an iconic Amazonian princess who becomes a superhero in the DC Universe. She first debuted in 1941 and was starring in her own comic by 1942.
Princess Diana of Themyscira (originally Paradise Island) was made out of clay by her mother, Queen Hippolyta of the Amazonians, and given life by the Greek gods. During a DC/Marvel crossover, Wonder Woman was actually able to use Mjolnir (Thor’s Hammer!). Although not the first female superhero, she is definitely one of, if not, the most popular one out there! She’s an inspiration to boys and girls alike and we cannot believe that it’s been 80 years since her first appearance! Wonder Woman’s legacy will continue to inspire through future generations and rightfully so.
